What To Expect

The first rule of PAINT CLUB, is that you tell everyone about PAINT CLUB. You know your way around a palette, but you want to experiment a little in a groovy studio with a creative vibe...Step this way...into my Wednesday Paint Club. All you need to do is decide if you want to come on Wednesday Mornings [10am-12.30] or Afternoons [2-4.30PM], then look through the dates below and select a block of 4 dates that suit you. Each set of 4 classes is £100 [ie £25 per week] Each block will follow a cohesive theme; made up of some theory, a look at different artists, followed by the practical work of painting...From Oils to Acrylic, to Watercolour and Ink - this is the place to explore and experiment with mediums, styles, subject and technique. There will be some suggested (optional!) homework ideas too if you'd like to continue develop at home. >Block 8 [PORTRAIT PAINTING]: Nov 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th. Oils on canvas. 2026 > Block 1 [FREE CHOICE] Jan 14th 21st, 28th & Feb 4th Any medium on any surface - our annual mad, carnage block - where YOU each get to choose what you do! >Block 2 [ALPHONSE MUCHA STUDY] Feb 25th, Mar 4th, 11th & 18th Watercolour and Ink on Watercolour Paper. We will look at the life & times of Alphonse Mucha, the Czech painter, illustrator, and graphic artist. We will recreate our own version of this iconic artist's work from the Art Nouveau period. >Block 3 [ABSTRACT] Apr 15th, 22nd, 29th & May 6th Acrylic Paint on Canvas. This block is open for you to interpret 'abstract' as far as you wish - whether you simply go loose with brushstrokes, or full throttle into full abstraction with shapes, colour and flow. >Block 4 [INTERIORS] May 13th, 20th, June 3rd & 10th Oils on Canvas. Based on the work of current artists like Richard Claremont and @Petethestreet1 - we'll be looking at elevating Ordinary Spaces & Rooms: through the dynamic use of light and composition. >Block 5 [BOATS] June 17th, 24th, July 1st & 8th Watercolours. Sailing. Tug. Canal. Steam. Row.... Yachts, Galleons...you name it. If it floats, you can paint it! Bring an image or idea of the boat and scene you would like to paint, and we'll set about creating a bobbing masterpiece! Classes will recommence after the Summer Holidays on the 2nd September 2026.
