What To Expect

Not Suitable for Beginners! This is the Advanced Class - a place of experimentation and confidence. This is the class to come if you're not afraid of making mistakes, in fact, you've realised that mistakes are essential. You want to try something new, and you'd like to push yourself a little bit further...oh! and you can laugh when it all goes hideously wrong :) ...Step this way...into my Thursday Drawing Club: Afternoons (1.30-4pm), and sign up for a block of 4 classes to practise, practise, practise! Thursday Afternoons: 1.30-4pm 2027 Dates: >Block 1: Free Choice (you choose!) Jan 14th, 21st, 28th & Feb 4th The annual block of Freedom! You choose the subject, the surface, the medium. Obviously it has to stay drawing based (strictly no brushes) but otherwise, the ball is in your court! Just let Kelly know in advance what materials you are going to need. >Block 2: 'Scapes (Soft Pastel) Feb 11th, 25th, Mar 4th & 11th One Seascape, One Landscape. Four Weeks. The closest we will get to painting - as these colours smoosh together in a most satisfying way. Bring. It. On. >Block 3: Reflections (Pencil) Apr 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th. Self reflection will not be necessary - this is all about uber shiny surfaces,,.glass, mirrors, puddles... and finding clarity of tone. Nothing more fancy than good ol' pencil (which is going to be hard enough) Initially working from Life. Please bring your own puddle. Hehe. >Block 4: Abstracts May 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th 4 weeks, 4 drawings, one Still Life set up. This should be an interesting. experiment in angles, layering and observation. You can choose your own objects & medium, or work from one provided. >Block 5: The Moon. June 10th, 17th, 24th & July 1st Coloured pencil on Dark paper. Capturing light.
