Summer: Homage to Toulouse-Lautrec
7th & 8th Aug (2 Days) | 13 yrs+
What To Expect
Summer: 7th & 8th August (2 day course) 10 am - 4 pm both days (12 hours tuition in total) Suggested Age: 13 yrs+ Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. This guy knew about colour. He knew about design and he knew about composition. Some might say he was the father of Graphic Design with his eye-catching, bold use of characters and text. He was a bohemium chap, living in Paris during the late 19th Century, hanging out in somewhat salacious venues along with Post-Impressionist Painters: Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, and Georges Seurat to name a few. We'll learn about his Life, Times and Works on the Thursday morning, with a view to extrapolate his ideas and develop our own designs. The afternoon will be spent planning and laying down the first throws of colour onto canvas - ready to go for it on Friday, with a full day of Acrylic Painting. I'm looking forward to this already! Set in our pretty, rural studio, alongside other Creative folk in Brownings Farm Workshops. The Wills's Whims studio has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, to allow creativity to thrive. All materials included, included final canvas painting. Working on easels. Maximum of 5 students: really allowing tutor time with each participant. Class will run even if not full. 10% sibling discount available (please email Kelly for online code). Please bring a packed lunch (nut free). Water will be freely available all day.
